Who are we?
Russian School and Choir in Guildford is a Saturday school for all who want to learn Russian. The school has four departments: Preparatory, Junior, Middle and Senior Schools. We also have Music and Art Departments. Opening hours: 10:00 to 17:00
Our goals
Studying the Russian language, understanding the culture of the Slavic peoples, developing children in an environment where the world is explored, creating an environment for creative and emotional development, music and fine arts classes, holding festivals and concerts.
Our concept
The Russian School and Choir in Guildford is an idea and understanding that for the development of children a good environment and great support from kind, understanding teacher-friends are necessary.

Our teachers
Natalia Hagelin
Director, teacher, organizer of camps and events. "My love for the Russian language and literature was instilled in me by my wonderful teacher in my early childhood. It is great to study and teach, so the idea of establishing our wonderful school in Guildford was born. I received an education in Latvia in two specialties, continued to study in England and am especially proud of my specialization in teaching bilingual children in Surrey schools."

Olesya Kasparis
Teacher of junior and senior grades. In 1998, she graduated from the philological faculty of the Ryazan State Pedagogical University named after S. Yesenin. In parallel with her studies, from the 3rd year, she worked as an English teacher in grades 4-5 of a comprehensive school in the city of Ryazan. Excellent knowledge of Russian, English and German allowed me to work as a tutor after graduating from university, and later as a translator. I love working with children, teaching them not only to speak, read and write in Russian, but also to enrich their general outlook on Russian culture. In my Russian language lessons, I periodically include elements of geography, history, art, which is very important for children studying Russian in another country.

Preparatory school teacher. "My name is Sophia. I graduated from the Vitus Bering Kamchatka University in 2010, receiving a degree in English and German. I worked in schools in St. Petersburg and Moscow, and also lived in Poland and Germany. In 2022, I completed retraining and became a speech therapist. I love working with children and always try to make learning fun and accessible through play, because this is how new knowledge is easier to learn!"

Teacher of primary and preparatory schools, logorhythmics and music. I am a teacher - a specialist in the development of preschool and primary school age. In my classes, I really like to combine logorhythmics, sensory activities and creative activities. I have good experience in teaching speech development for bilingual children. I am interested in speech therapy, and I often include elements of speech therapy exercises in my classes. For me, the most pleasant thing in my work with children is to see their faces shining with joy, sincerity in their every action, and inexhaustible creative energy!

I have 5 years of experience teaching vocals, vocal ensemble, piano and general musical development to children aged 4 to 15 in a comprehensive school in Russia. Teaching and working with children is my main interest and subject of adoration, so an individual approach and study of the psychological characteristics of the child are certainly present in my practice for the most productive work and achievement of results!"
