Children from 7 years old

First class

The First Grade program (Program 1) is a specialized primary school program in Russian for children aged 7 and above (post-primer stage), developed for children abroad. To master the basics of primary school, we offer a 3-year course.

Class format: work in class or individually once a week for 1.5 hours. Online support from a tutor. The volume of classes is at least 32 classes per year.

The level of speech culture of people around them, especially adults, has a great influence on the formation of grammatically correct speech in children. In the seventh year, a child's speech becomes more precise in structural terms, expanded, logically consistent. Various games require compliance with and explanation of rules, so children begin to use explanatory speech, which requires special precision of expression, transmission of the sequence of actions.

The pronunciation side of the child's speech reaches a high level, various means of speech and language expressiveness are used, all words and phrases are pronounced clearly. Children gradually master the norms of literary pronunciation.

Characteristics of the speech of a six-year-old child The child's phonemic hearing is formed on the basis of speech communication. By the end of early childhood, children distinguish words by meaning that differ in one sound. However, the ability to perform sound analysis of words is formed much later. This is facilitated by the awareness of the verbal composition of speech. Children begin to try to comprehend the meaning of words, explain their origin, compare them with other consonant words. Children practice composing rhymes, deliberately modify words, "invent" new words. The sound shell of the language becomes the subject of the child's activity: word creation, versification. Gradually developing linguistic intuition, mental work on the language lead to a conscious attitude to speech. Before school, it is important to teach the child to make sentences based on a picture, on a given topic, on key words, to isolate sentences from the flow of speech, to isolate words from a sentence, to determine the number of words in it, to name words in order.

The child must master the sound-syllabic analysis of words: learn to determine the number and sequence of sounds and syllables in monosyllabic and disyllabic words, the place of each sound in the word; compare words by sound-syllabic composition, and also transform words. These skills are formed during special training and are important in mastering reading and writing.

At this age, the preschool period of the child's development ends, the main results of which are the development of the subject and social environment, the role of a preschooler, as well as readiness for systematic learning. In games and activities with children of the seventh year, it is important to cultivate respect for elders, a caring attitude towards younger children, goodwill in communication with adults and peers, independence and discipline. Developing a child's interest in learning about the world of objects and things, cars, nature, people, adults should also pay attention to the formation of learning skills, among which the most important are the ability to listen and remember, understand a task and act according to certain rules, the ability to act according to a plan and the ability to evaluate one's activities, the ability to overcome difficulties and failures and accept help from an adult and a peer, the ability to coherently express one's thoughts and feelings in speech and communicate culturally among peers and adults.
